Growing up in rural Ontario, I spent most of my youth in the outdoors with my face stuck between the pages of books, immersing myself in different worlds and becoming inspired by fictional characters - dreaming that one day, I would conjure up a world of my own.
In 2018, I graduated from Sheridan College with a diploma in Journalism and Media Fundamentals, where I gained experience writing articles and interviewing prominent members of the literary and filmmaking world. I became confident in my abilities and discovered my voice. One of my best memories from my time at Sheridan College was travelling to New York City to interview the author of CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, as well as the Oscar nominated screenwriter for the film adaptation.
It was in 2020, during the worldwide pandemic, that I began creating my own artwork. Focusing on watercolour and line art, I was commissioned for several projects such as watercolour portraits, book cover designs, logo designs, and illustrations for poetry novels.
It was shortly after that when I got the opportunity from one of my close friends, Devon Attaei, to co-author a poetry novel. I was nervous, to say the least, but I knew this had been the opportunity I'd been waiting for. At this time, I was experiencing a lot of turbulence in my personal life, and poetry became the perfect outlet for my complicated emotions. I spent months pouring my feelings out onto paper, piecing together over 100 poems and illustrations. This collection is titled TEMPORARY FOREVER, and is my first published work.
I am incredibly proud of TEMPORARY FOREVER and am blown away by the support I've received online. I am so glad my words have resonated with so many others around the world.
At the moment, I am working on my very first fiction novel, AS WE BURN, which is available to read for free on Wattpad.
